Europe just got a serious shot at participating in AI development and we're proud to be part of it.
Endeit Capital has invested in General Intuition, one of Europe's most ambitious frontier AI companies. Today, AI mostly understands language, but General Intuition is building foundation models that perceive, predict and act in the physical world.
Why this matters 👇
As AI becomes increasingly strategic, Europe needs companies that develop fundamental technologies with long-term independence. As a continent, we must give our own ambitions room to grow and not rely on models from Asia or the US.
What stands out to us is General Intuition's unique data moat. By leveraging one of the world's largest repositories of action-labelled gameplay data, they're training models with the potential to power the next generation of autonomous driving, robotics and real-world AI.
Our story with Pim de Witte and his co-founders goes back to 2018. That's when we first visited them to discuss funding possibilities for Medal.tv, their social video platform. The fit wasn't right for us at the time, but we stayed in touch and kept following their journey.
Earlier this year, we learned they were raising again, about 9 months after their previous $134m seed round, to further accelerate building a new generation of foundation AI models, an opportunity that aligned perfectly with our strategy.
What impressed us most? The founders' conviction. Rather than accepting a substantial acquisition offer of reportedly $500m from OpenAI, they chose the more ambitious path: building an independent AI company with global aspirations. That takes vision, confidence, and long-term thinking, exactly the qualities we look for in founders.
We're delighted to support Pim and his team on this journey, investing alongside Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst, with participation from Jeff Bezos, Eric Schmidt, and others. Together with NP-Hard Ventures, special kudos for their swift and smooth coordination, and Coalition Capital, we're also proud to be among the only European venture firms in this $ 320m round.
We can't wait to see what the team builds next. 🚀
